I have the sad news that one of our members, Ayesha Jamil, has passed away on September 3, 2008. Ayesha was not active in terms of posting but she was a part of our family who regularly visited our site. Her father sent me the following message:
I am father of Ayesha Jamil. My daughter Ayesha Jamil was regular member of this forum. This will be very sad news for all members of this forum that my daughter AYESHA JAMIL (themehar) has been died on 3rd Setember 2008. She was thalassemia major and cause of her death was kindny failure due to high diabetes. I am very much thankful to all of you for providing moral, medical and social help to my daughter. Thank again and request to pray for her. Muhammad Jamil Akhtar Father of AYESHA JAMIL

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I pray for Ayesha and her family. It is heartbreaking that thalassemia
has taken the life of one of our members. I pray that we can prevent these tragedies from happening in the future.

Dear Sarmin.
This is the dreadfull part of the illness,Unfortunately, every time we loggin,we wonder whats on today.
Its heartbreaking, each time it happen.
I hope we all take comforts from one another and remember that the struggles goes on.

Losing another Thalassemic friend is bit unbearable but we all have to bear this lose + their family have to bear it the most, may Allah give them strength and give Ayesha Jamil the highest rank in heaven, ameen!

I cannot fathom the grief Mr. Akhtar and his family must be going through. I hope Mr Akhtar and his family get the strength to move on. My sincere Condolences to Akhtar family.
Andy, do you know how old was Ayesha? Why did she had kidney failure? is it from the iron overload or a side effect of Iron chelation medication?

I don't know her age but the kidney failure was a result of diabetes which is usually caused by iron overload in thals.

Ayesha Jamil was only 14 years of age. We have to conquer this disorder.

How terrible! 14? I wonder if she was being treated properly for her Diabetes and iron overload. Do you have any information about that, Andy? ???
