Aabha,

I don't think there is anyone on the site who has got a cord blood transplant done. Mohanish did get a BMT done (which was a success) but Madhavi and Manoj will be able to share most of their experience with it.

I know of a child who got Cord Blood Transplant done in England and send you the information of the parents over private message.

As you read in the FAQ of our site:
http://www.curethalassemia.org/faq/ (http://www.curethalassemia.org/faq/)
in case of a matching donor, Dr. Sodani (our scientific coordinator) suggests to do a Bone Marrow Transplant and not a Cord Blood (CB).
In fact with a CB there is a higher risk both of rejection and to get a graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
