Title: Why is my feet sometimes look like swelled and get muscle cramps?
Post by: Cherry Mar on July 16, 2012, 10:01:53 AM
Hello!
I'm  from the Philippines. I was diagnosed to have Hemoglobin E/Beta Thalassemia when I was 7. Now I'm 21. just this last dec. I have iron overload and my hematologist told me to undergo chelation therapy. but I haven't started it untill now considering the cost, it's really quite expensive and also have a side effects too. I frequently felt that my feet looks like swelling and i have muscle cramps early in the morning though its not everyday. Is it because of my iron overload? :(

Cherry,

You should start on a chelator under a doctor's supervision. I suggest that you contact others in the Philippines about what chelators are available and what the costs are.
