Post by: Devesh on September 30, 2019, 03:01:52 AM
Andy and friends I need you advise.
My 6 years son hospitalize 4 days back due Dengue positive NS1 and IgM everyday 2 times having high fever 104. his latest CBC report count is:
Platelets 102000
WBC 1100
HB 9.2

Dr. is giving fluid using saline, for fever giving ferinil injection and Meftal Syrup. Also to boost platelets giving Papaya leaves extract 5ml twice a day.

Andy and friends, Please suggest me how to reduce the fever frequency and boost platelets and wbc count any special care which we are missing

The doctors are following the correct procedures. The fluids are very important while the fever is present. The disease has to follow its course, and although the fever is high, it is not a dangerous level.
I'm sure it is very difficult to see your child like this. This fever usually lasts 4-7 days, and the only different treatment thals sometimes need is a transfusion if the Hb drops low.

Thanks a lot Andy.
You were correct after 5 days counts are now increased.
WBC improved to 3600 and platelets jump to 74000 from 59000.

Devesh.
