Hi Anita,

Unfortunately, I cannot come to the Delhi conference this year. Even managing to go to the NYC conference which is only a one hour flight for me, was very difficult. Hopefully, things will improve for me so I can travel internationally again, but finances are not the same as they were due to the bad economy, so I have to stay close to home for now. I hope the conference goes well and is a big success. Please give everyone my regards.

By the way, I was very happily surprised to see Inder at the NYC conference. I knew he was studying genetics in the US, but never thought I might meet him here. He was there with a poster exhibit concerning fetal hemoglobin research. It was really nice to see him and give him a hug.  It's also great to see how many thal patients are going into medicine and research so that they can help make life better for all.

This sounds like a great conference, I hope that our members residing in India will be in attendance.  It will also be a great opportunity for them to get to know one another - and support one another.

Thanks for posting this agenda Narendra,
