A message for all  parents who are thals. Keeping your iron load under control is an absolute obligation to your children.

Will thal rule you or will you rule thal?

Today would have been your birthday. I don't know if I ever knew anyone who loved birthdays as much as you.
In spite of thalassemia, you maintained a child like innocence in so many ways, and birthdays being extra special
was one of those ways. I remember you being so sick, but still you managed to drive through a snowstorm to come
see me on my birthday. That's a kind of friendship that is rare in this world and I can never forget the friendship we had.
Your memory lives on and inspires so many. And I would give just about anything to hear you crack a joke again.
