Going in tommorow...

For my bone marrow biopsy.
I have a friend going with me to hold my hand. Thanks for all your support in my last post whining about this...It helps a lot to know someone out there knows what I'm going thru without having to explain it a million times. I'll try to hop on tommorow nite to let you know how I'm doing - if not, my mom will happily oblige. She's such a lurker!

I went in, and my blood counts were so good today, Dr. Roman decided not to do the biopsy...
BUT...now I am seeing the surgeon to have the spleen out by the end of the month, because it is swollen even more on the CT scan, and is affecting my other organs now. My ovaries, in the last 7 weeks, have created a multitude of cystic structures, both inside and outside, and there's a lot of free fluid around the spleen and my digestive organs. So, by early next month, I'll be in for surgery.
Thanks for all your support. Todays appointment has really thrown me for a loop!

Hi Courtenay! I'm so glad that you don't need to go for the biopsy! However, I'm sorry that you need your spleen removed.

Hi Courtenay,
Don't let the splenectomy worry you. Nowadays it can be performed with the endoscopy method instead of the traditional surgery. Just relax for a few days and you'll be up and running in no time.
Best wishes,
and
Take care, Peace!
