ahem......ahem, the thing is i am not as courageous as my daughter, :rotfl even when i give her carao,i can't stand the smell, and the face my daughter makes after taking it :medicine :puke, i think i'll take time to find the courage  :biggrin.although my hb always remains below normal.
Anyways i was only joking,it's just that right now it won't be possible for me to arrange the credit card again,it was a hassle last time also,Lloyd knows :).

I am not trying to undermine or insult anyone here but would like to share my experiences with carao.

First of all, I would like to say that I myself used carao after my blood counts were low from agressive chemotherapy. I am therefore familiar on a personal basis. It has been 6 years and for the first time in my life, my hemoglobin counts have been low end normal. I carry the minor trait.

My Granddaughter(Thal Major) is two and has had it in her bottle for many months.  Thankfully, she loves it and actually asks for it.

When I purchased it for her, I ordered it for my Mom (now 82), who was experiencing low hg levels. My Unlce has Stage 4 Lymphoma and the chemo has caused anemia.  I was worried sick with whether they would be able to tolerate it because of the "smell."  It did not bother either of them. In fact, my Mom likes it. Another close family member who recently went through chemo used a bottle to help keep her counts elevated and it worked and she too liked it.

Not sure wheter any of you make an issue out of the smell but if you don't, you may have more success. It does seem however, that children who strart it when they are a little older are the ones who find it distasteful.

I have so much faith in this produc that I wish there were a magic wand that would enable everyone to toelrate it. That is kind of silly because if there were a magic wand, I would use it to ward off all illness and disease, epecially thalassemia! SUre you get my point though.

Anyway... I would love to provide data on my G-Daughter's progress but I feel it would be better to leave it to her Mother who I know posts on here and is a huge advocate and great Mom.

At any rate and no matter what you each choose, you are all in my thoughts and prayers for great health and success.
