Umair, this might not apply for your part of the world (?), but in western countries (North and South America and Europe) it is in my experience *never* wise to ask for a medical doctor's approval to use carao fruit. Almost no doctor will approve of anything he does not know about and which is not part of standard, orthodox treatment. Doctors generally know nothing about carao, NOR ARE THEY INTERESTED. If a doctor did "approve" of it, he would open himself to lawsuits.
If you use carao and get great results, and report those results to your doctor (I have witnessed this situation, via email, more times than I can remember), the most you can expect from your doctor is for him to say "Keep on doing what you're doing." He will NOT be motivated by your success to investigate carao and recommend it for other patients.
Carao is a natural fruit, and should be used with that attitude. It you ask for a doctor's approval to use it for anemia/thalassemia, you immediately change it from a food into an "unapproved new drug."
On the other hand, if carao is used as a food, your doctor will not object. You can show him the bottle and let him read the label. All you have to remember is to not tell him it is good for anemia!
Note that I use the words "he" and "him" in the broad, traditional English sense to refer to both men and women.

let me add from muy own personal experience regarding any holistic or natural approach when it comes to a conventional doctor.
I mentioned in my previous post that I had aggressive chemotherapy. I went the conventional route BUT having always used many natural paths, as soon as I finished I went holistic. Still use conventional as well. I am of the mind that the best of both worlds work well for me.
Anyway..... I was having horrific problems and side effects from post chemo / surgical meds that were literally destroying me. I started investigating many natural remedies. When I approached my Oncologist, he told me that he was not able to condone any product that did not have clinical studies. So... I found that by rephrasing my question, I got the answer that I wanted. I asked him whether he had other patients who chose natural remedies and he said many. I then asked how they were doing and he knocked wood, gave me a smile and said " very well. Thank God."
It is also important to note that you should approach the doctor with facts. DO you homework and be prepared. Lloyd is right. Most know nothing about many of these natural remedies and some even hate them out right. I had one doctor tell me that he might as well sell cars if herbs worked! Well... duh! Most of modern medicine was derived from herbs used centuries ago.
In the case of Carao, it is low in iron and is a fruit, so basically how could they say no. It then comes to the point that you have to make your own edcuated decision. Hard but do-able. Pray and follow your gut!

I am reading this post for the first time. What is this carao fruit? When i goggled about carao, I did not see any independant website talking about this fruit. the sites that talk about it always links back to anemiaanswer.com which is owned by Lloyd Standish. This fruit is not even mentioned in wikipedia. if you try searchign for any other fruit, wikipedia will always show up. I am sorry , I don't want to offend anybody but i am curious why no one else talks about this fruit.
