Which part of England are you looking at? I know in London there's a Thal Society which has a vast network of doctors and patients in UK. You can try contacting them and their website is http://www.ukts.org./

Hi Bdra,
I live in Australia,but i have also lived In London and have been to the hospital there to have blood.
They are very good there i went to a hospital called UCH = university college hospital which is near the west end in London.The haemo specialists name is prof john porter and he is a fantastic thalassemia consultant and very knowledgeable on thal.There is a special thal section in the hosiptal ,which is a short day stay.The hospital has a website so u can look it up also.Hope this helps you abit.

Hi,
I also live in london and have been having transfusions at the Whittington Hospital. The treatment centre there is fantastic owing to the nurse specialist Emma Prescott who is actually an angel. :)
