I just learned today that my young friend, Noora has just seen Dr Shah at Whittington for the first time (they just relocated from Sri Lanka when her dad was reassigned to a post in London). Her mom, Marie was very impressed by the center and Dr Shah. I think you will find excellent care under Dr Shah, and if Dr Porter is still practicing, you will find one of the top thal specialists in the entire world.

As a thal major and travelling as frequently as I did in the past. I have visited both UCH and the Whitington hospital and both are great.

Dr Shah is wonderful , she took over from Dr Wonke who set up the clinic there. She was the iron lady
Prof John Porter is still treating at the UCH and he looks after his patients also
Emma Presscot is a complete ANGEL, there are no words to describe her

Also England has reciprical rights with some countries so besure to check with whom your country has recipricol rights and what is on offer for you.

UKTS is also a great society and Pat and Elaine are wonderful staff and they will help you out at any point.
