A New and Humane approach in the management of Thalassemia’s
nanuaru:
that is one thing that i want to empasise wether it is ayu. /naturopath/ homeo we culd help in improving the qulity of life these type of patients . they may experience less of pain / reactiuons would be leading more fruitfull life but it all has`to be taken in context that basic tretment of thal majar is blood trans. and iron chelation which you failed to empasise in your article . If every thing that modern medhicine says is not right then evry that they say is also not wrong. all these systems of medicine have to run side by side to achieve their aim of good health. By ridiculing the modern science you create a doubt in mind of layman that really what makes me angry.
thanks

One cannot contradict the effectiveness of natural medicine or alternative therapies in the management of thalassemia. However, your initial post gave an impression that you were selling this treatment as a cure, that is where the confusion starts. Everybody here knows that blood transfusions and iron chelation are the basic pillars of thalassemia major treatment and cannot be avoided. No therapy, no medicine as of today can replace these basic pillars but aid in the management of thalassemia major.
We do hope that you son continues to grow and prosper. Please keep us posted as how he is doing.

The natural and homeopathic methods may have some benefit in improving Hb levels and overall health, but this can also be done with the use of specific supplements that do not involve paying fees that are often quite high to clinics. People need to keep in mind that there are many who will prey on your fears and take advantage of your wallets when allowed. I have yet to see any method that makes more than a minor difference in hemoglobin levels, and none that cure. Paying for "consultations" and overpriced natural remedies the clinics provide is a potentially foolish investment. This money could be better spent in purchasing supplements like wheatgrass that do have a positive long term effect. Faithful use of wheatgrass, IP6, vitamins E and D, magnesium and others will improve the health and at a much lower cost, without raising unreasonable expectations which will actually turn some parents and patients off to natural remedies. The use of natural products as a complement to medical treatment requires a long term commitment and one will see a gradual improvement in overall health without falling victim to claims of any quick cures.

Hi Andy,
You are right , I agree with you on this subject, only if I knew I could have save myself a bundle and live a more painless life.
I'm trying to replace prescribed medication with Natural supplements.
Believe me there are no quick fix it an ongoing exercise .
My only wish is that the community and Medical Professionals undestand that better, it will make a world of a difference when they do.
Kathy
