abstracts about deficiences in Thalassemia

<< < (2/2)

ParkerLewis:
Another nice abstract about fatty acid status in thal minor.
It seems that we are deficient in all unsattered fatty acids.
This is important to me,because fatty acid deficiency can make poor night vision, sensitivity to bright light, eczema, asthma, poor concentration, dry skin,a bad mood, tired, allergic tendencies, hair loss, dry hair, sleep problems (esp.: difficulties in setting at night and waking in the morning),depression, brittle nails
In conjunction with our carnitine deficiency (transporter of Fatty Acids into the cells),this could be a problem

ParkerLewis:
No problem... :wink
In my fatty acid screening test last month linolic acid (c18:2),Arachidonacid (20:4),Alpha Lipoic Acid,Homo Gamma Linolic Acid,Gamma Linolic Acid and the Omega 3 Acids were really significantly low.
I am on supplements and extra oil now.My hair is a lot more shinier, but for energy it is to early to tell.

Manal:
Good luck ParkerLewis and please keep us updated
