This is great news, please keep working on it.
Andy Battaglia:
Jatinder, whenever it is possible, take the desferal for a longer period. Minimum 12 hours would help a lot, even if only a couple times each week. You're making good progress but if you increase the desferal duration, you will see an even more rapid drop in ferritin levels.
nice friend:
:exactly Jatin , i :agree to Andy .... you have to increase your chelation time .. increasing chelation is not difficult , its easy ... only prob is to take pump with you ... and solutiion is , to use pump on your arm or if you are using pump on ur tummy then put the pump in your side pocket or in the pocket near knees ... your this one period of chelation is too short , your results are good n encouraginn but it could be more good if you increase the duration ... i used to take 3 vial in18-21 hours and my results are showing the super fast rate of decreasing SF level ... soo i will sugest you to increass the time of desferal to take the most benefit of it .... i hope you got wat i want to say .. and i hope that you will at-least once try to follow these advices
Best Regards
Take Care

Jatinder,
I am happy to hear that your ferritin level is decreasing - but I must also agree with Andy and Umair that you need to increase your chelation time. I sometimes thing that getting around the clock IV desferal for a few days can be a great help - even if you do it a few days a week.
You should be taking desferal at the very least 12 hours a day - 3 to 7 days a week. If you can do it 7 days a week for a while that would be ideal. Once your iron levels come down you can reduce that to 5 days a week. Desferal is not effective if it is used for less than 10 hours. Your ferritin is still keeping you in the danger zone. Please be sure to be treated for any fever that you ever experience because fever with ferritin that high can be very very dangerous.
Please see the following thread for information on chelation, duration and effectiveness:

We look forward to hearing that your ferritin has dropped further, I am very glad that your ferritin has dropped so much!
Sharmin
