Happy Eid everyone.  May Allah indeed accept our sacrifices.

I really want to know how you celebrate Eid in different countries.  So, how do you spend your eid day?

In Mauritius, we start preparing beforehand by cleaning the entire house and make it look better for that day.  We wake up earlier complete our fajr, then we go for the eid namaz, we come back and along with other members of the family we join together and cook our "briani" while the men go for the sacrifices.  They come back for lunch and then we distribute the meat.  After that my husband, children and I, we go to my parent's place where we have dinner.

Hey Jade  :hugfriend

It's almost the same here,in Pakistan,we wake up early in the morning,After fajr,Men go for eid namaz, then sacrifices are done, meat distributed, cooking all along, special dishes include all meat dishes specially fried liver (EWWW)  :rotfl I really don't like it,but people love it here. And we have dinner at my hubby's parents that day.By the way i love Biryani  :biggrin I don't know how you cook it there, but it's a really spicy dish here.

Dore, I hope you got the picture now :) what we celebrate is a great sacrifice one of Allah's Messengers Hazrat Ibrahim was going to make,we call it Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi here ,(Sunnat being an act done by a Messenger( or Prophet) and followed by the believers ).

Zaini.

Dori:
yeah, now I remember. My Turkish friends will punish me, haha!  :biggrin

Nur:
Hello All,

Happy Eid to those who celebrate it.. Well, the celebration here in Malaysia is not so different too from Maldives and Pakistan. We wake up at dawn to do our morning prayer. Afterwards, we went for the mosque to do the Eid prayers and afterwards the men will perform the sacrifice. After the meat is distributed, we cook and have a feast  :biggrin

Except that the menu is different here. Some cook it as Rendang (spicy abd full of herbs), or fried them with ginger or make it into soup. Instead of Briyani, we eat it with plain white rice.

 :wink
