blood results of a pk def. patient - asking for advice
Dori:
Thank you Andy :)
I still don't know where I can buy them. These days are very cold ( between -5 and - 10) so I decided to stay home. However, tomorrow I must buy a present for my father's birthday. I think I will be able to search for them are different kinds of single tablets.
Next time when I post here I will tell you that i bought this supplements.
Owh, how many of vit. E is recommend. One use the "ium " as amount? :dunno
Dore :)
Andy Battaglia:
At least 400 IU natural vitamin E daily (do not take doses of more than 100 IU synthetic vitamin E daily. Synthetic will say dl-tocopherol. Natural will say d-tocopherol). Very important for protecting cells from iron damage.
Dori:
Hi Andy,
I went to several chemist's, but I have found some supplements. I have bought Vitamine E-200ie (this is the minimal dose) d-tocopherol. Those pills are soft, is that normal? These are 75 tablets from €5. I also bought
Vitamine B Complex-25 mg/mcg. I wasn't sure about the dosage so I bought this minimal dosage. This are 90 tablets for €4 It has:
vit. B1 50 mg
Vit. B2 50 mg
Vit. B3 50 mg
Vit. B5 50 mg
Vit. B6 25 mg
Vit B12 50 mcg
Folic Acid 50 mcg
Biotine 50 mcg
Chaline 20 mg
Inositol 50 mg
PABA 50 mg
Later I realise that 100 mcg is 1 mg, isn't it? My doctor prescribe 5mg of folic acid daily. I became completely confused in those stores so I decided to buy this one. In spring I will do more research. I couldn't find B complex without folic acid.
p.s. Vit E smells bad
Andy Battaglia:
1000 mcg=1mg, so 5 mg is 5000 mcg.
Vitamin E caps should be soft as E is a thick liquid. It's much easier if you just swallow the caps and don't open them. The B complex should be supplemented with your prescribed dose of folic acid.
