Different possibilities like an antibody reaction, overactive spleen or just an old unit of blood, come to mind, but it's hard to say just by speculating. Hopefully, your next transfusion will last longer.

if i m not wrong Dore has a history of splenectomy .... and yeah , Anti-body reaction and old unit of blood could b a reason of that decrease in Hg ...

ask you blood bank to provide you fresh blood and then note that if you Hg decrease's to the same rate , i hope n pray that after getting fresh blood your Hg will not decrease that much and it will b only bcoze of old unit of blood ... Best of luck dore, and please keep us upadated as much it is possible, praying the same , i hope your next Tx will last longer than previous onez ....

My bloodbank is the best (plus first) of my country. They are even one of two who store the blood who have antibodies at all (the best blood but rare so people need it for themself)
I got this after reactons since 2 years but I got them always but immediatly when tx start.
I don't have a spleen. None of all complains are fit by one & the other way round.
Untill 2nd of June: a blood test, echo of upper stomach (hope this makes sense) and thorax (lung).. Then we will meet again. Owh I got pantozol (prontonpump??). It might by a "maagzweer". But I am right about my breathing problems. The good thing? I already take Exjade at night. The bad thing? 2morrow for first this new med. He thinks it will help me with eating. I can't eat now, you see....

Ps it took us more than 2.5hrs to come home instead of usually <1hr

2: I dnt have a spleen or gallbladder anymore...other guess is gallstones... That's exactly why they took my gallbladder out in 1990.... Geezhh!
