How is Ahmad now?  Has his fever come down?  What did the doctor say?  I hope that he is doing better now.

I hope Ahmad gets well soon.  I think it is a common virus, my children also had fever last week.  Anyway I am expecting as much for my children because winter is setting in (how I hate winter).  Usually if the fever does not go down after 3 days, antibiotics are started here.  Find out what virus this is.  When the fever is too high you can do some tepid sponging (soak a small towel in normal temp. water, squeeze it to remove excess water and place it on his forehead, under his armpits etc to lower the temperature and at times I even give a small tepid bath to lower the temperature).  Let us know how Ahmad is faring.  Inshallah he will recover his good health soon.

Thank Canadian family, Sharmin, Dore and Jade.

Actually it is not regular to check for what virus we get here, except in serious cases, but his doctor started him on antibiotic (Augmanten). From the time he started his first dose, thanks God there is no more fever, so i guess that the viral infection has changed to a bacterial one.

I was supposed to make the regular CBC on Sunday but the hematologist said that i should postpone it as for sure there will be hemolysis as a result of this continous fever. he really looks so exhausted.
