SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR RESEARCH STUDY
Doctors at Albert Einstein College of Medicine are looking for volunteers with hemoglobinopathies (Hb H, thalassemias, and sickle cell disease) to participate in a research study
We are testing procedures to correct genes that cause sickle cell disease and thalassemia in stem cells created from hairs or skin cells. We are also testing methods to change the corrected stem cells back into blood cells that could be use to cure patients with these diseases.
Your part in the study will be a one-time donation of a few hairs or a small skin biopsy, and a blood sample.
