ith todays therapies and awareness how old do you think a person with major thalassemia lives?
i know its not a nice question to ask but i'm hoping that it's the same as a person with out it

IN nowdays the person with thalassemia can live long life but they most control ther iron level . i belive that the gene therpy will be successful tretment for thalassemia . im prying for my brother day and night becoz i love my borther so much .

With a good treatment program, thals are now living into their 50's and beyond. This is the first generation with an opportunity to live a long life, so we really don't know what to expect. The younger patients have many advantages in care that the older patients did not have when they were young, so life expectancy for thals is expected to continue to increase.

any news from Pat what day the gene therapy trial will begin?
50 years and beyond is close to the age range for people with out major thal too, isnt it?
