Vitamin C

(1/1)

Sharmin:
We are presently in Oakland and we were at the clinic for the last 2 days.  Some recommendations given for Lil A include:

Iron levels for children should be between 200 and 600 when using exjade.
Children should have 100 to 150 IU of vitamin C daily.  The vitamin C question comes up often - therefore I wanted to share that we were told that vitamin C is in fact recommended.

It is also important for all patients to have Calcium, magnesium, zinc/copper, vitamin D, selenium, and vitamin e.

Excercise is also important for thals.

I will update more once we are home.

Best,

Sharmin

JV:
Thank you so much for sharing

Andy Battaglia:
I am happy to see that a thal doctor is advising vitamin C. I have been advising this for some time in the amount of 100-200 mg daily, regardless of which chelator is used. Vitamin C is absolutely essential for the body and thals should take it, although only in low doses.

Pratik:
Thank you for sharing Sharmin.

I was concerned about Selenium. I was taking it since past 2 and a half years and I suddenly one day grown up a belief that it MAY have caused to enlarge my LYMPH NODES.

My dad insists me but I am resistant to take it, what should I do? Andy, Sharmin? How that maybe useful?
