Hi everyone!
I go for blood transfusion every fifteen days when i get one pack and if I get two packs of blood I go in three weeks.

I go for lab work every 2 weeks and my hgb determines how much I am transfused. The orders are 11 and under 1 unit 10 and under 2 units.
My original hemotologist always said to keep the levels above 10 that it was heathier. And I read in one of the treatment for thalassemia books that I got from www.cooleysanemia.com "that as long as your hgb is 10 or above your body doesn't store away as much iorn esp from foods eaten."
