Book about boy who grew up with Thalassemia - Genes, Blood, and Courage

The book, Genes, Blood, and Courage, A Boy Called Immortal Sword, was written by Dr. David Nathan. 
Has anyone on this forum read this?  I recently read it.  It's a true story about a boy with thalassemia.  I learned so much! It's truly amazing at how far medicine has come.  Although I have a different blood disorder, there are quite a few similarities.  The author is the doctor who diagnosed me when nobody else could.  I would not be here if it wasn't for Dr. Nathan!
