Lifespan in Thalassaemia?

Dear Thal community,
I was wondering, how old is the oldest patient ( β' Thal major) you ever met?
I'm 43 years old, some of the people here know me already, and I am one of the eldest patients in Germany. 
As Thal-friends have told me here in Germany...
So please reply wherever you live, in which country ever, who did you met or who do you know...?
