Hello everyone!
Andy had referred me to my local chapter of the Red Cross to speak on behalf of thalassemics in order to raise awareness on the dire need for blood, and our July 4th blood drive on our local news channel. At the moment, we're at critical levels, so this is a great opportunity to get the word out about thal, and about the need for blood!
What I would like from any of you is, what is the one thing you would tell people about thalassemia to get them to donate blood?
Thanks so much! I want us all to be heard! :)

I'd say that God Almighty has gifted us with a system that can regenerate blood which we can share with those who don't have this gift, like us Thals. So donating blood is a great way of thanking Him that He hasn't made you (the normal people) like us Thals.
Take care, Peace!

Thanks Manal, :biggrin
Something similar was said by a doctor to a donor that, "You are like an ocean of blood and it won't make a difference to you if we take a pint from an ocean."
Take care, Peace!
