Hi friends...
My daughter Noora is at the moment on Desferal and we are looking at the possibility of starting the new oral drug Exjade. Because of the high cost of Exjade it may not be possible for us to completely change over to Exjade. I was told that a 50 kilo Thal patient will require Exjade worth approximately 2300 US dollars per month!
So, I want to find out whether Exjade can be used simultaneiously with Desferal.
If anyone can provide information or advice on the possiblity of using both desferal and exjade at the same time I would be very grateful.
Thanks
Marie

Hi Marienoora and welcome to the site.
Combining exjade with other chelators like desferal is not approved by most doctors as there aren't studies about side effects of this combinations. Some doctors approve giving them togather like in the case of our friend Danielle who is taking them togather
You can read about this in this link
