Today, March 23, 2006, Lisa Cammilleri, would have been 36 years old.
Lisa was the founder of the MSN group, Thalassemia Patients and Friends, and also its predecessor on Yahoo.com.
Lisa was a pioneer who had the vision to see what this group could mean to people.
She wanted a place where people could meet and become friends and help each other. The concern and compassion she showed for even those she had never met was an example to us all, and her spirit and her legacy live on in this wonderful group that she created and loved.
Today I remember dear Lisa. My best friend. My "little sister".
A woman whose life was too short but who also lived her life to the fullest.
Lisa lived life knowing that there might not be a tomorrow, so she always tried to make the best of today. Lisa did all those things she wanted to do. She didn't put them off, because she might never get another chance.
A lesson to us all.
Lisa, today we remember you and how important each birthday was to you and is to every thal, and we celebrate your life.
Today I'll light a candle for you and remember the joy it was to be your friend.
I'll always love you little sis,
Andy
