Title: News from Hemaquest
Post by: Manal on April 14, 2008, 11:30:14 PM
Hi everybody

I have good news, i used to email Dr. Suzan Perrine about my son's case and she is so helpful and answers my emails. Yesterday, i emailed her asking about the new oral drug that induces the fetal Hb as the trails were supposed to start last summer of 2007. She answered me as follows and i truely appreciate her reply

Quote
Dear Mrs. Zaatar,

Thank you for writing.

We will begin trials of the new medicine  in Lebanon later this year.

We will not yet be able to treat  young  children immediately, until we find the best dose.

We are working hard to find a good treatment for your son.

Please continue to stay in touch, so we can tell you when young children can participate.

Best wishes,

Susan  Perrine

I wonder if this new medicine will be effective with all patients or like the hydrea some benefit and others don't, hope we get to know the answer soon
