Stem cell breakthrough treatment has treated a young child afflicted with epidermolysis bullosa - in which patients are unable to make type VII collagen.

This is good news for the particular disease being treated and possibly others.
I hope that it will be useful in treating thalassemia and sickle cell anemia as well.
