Hi all!
Glad to be here!
I'm living in germany. I'm searching for people from USA because I'll have to stay there for a while, and why I'm wondering how US thalassemics are doing there?
Send me a message!

well i m not from USA .but onething to tell u that is u can go to USA on ur own efforts without help of anyone ..criteria to go to USA for u is :
if u r a patient of thalassemia u can apply on ur medical report and dr's prescription ....
if anyone of ur relative is a thal then u can apply on his/her reports and dr's prescription USA .in this case u will apply as a gaurdian as gaurdian/caretaker to look after his/her

thank you for this!
but one more, what do you mean exactly whit that? "if u r a patient of thalassemia u can apply on ur medical report and dr's prescription"
you mean that I can do so like you described if I have to go to a dr instantly?
cheers,
nico

It is very difficult to get insurance coverage in the US unless you live here. Most insurance is through employer based programs. If you are visiting the US and will need to arrange for transfusions, please contact the Patient Services Coordinator at the Cooley's Anemia Foundation I don't know if Eva is back from maternity leave, so Eileen Scott may still be filling in for her.

Welcome to the site and Welcome to the US when you arrive. Andy and Nice friend make good points. Just in case you need a Dr. having insurance is definately a good thing.
What part of the US are you coming to. I am in the south where its hot and humid right now. Are you in school?
