I am a cousin of Sajid Rauf. He has expired last night and if you are his best friend please visit his home and pray along with his mum and sister. May his soul rest in peace and Allah give him paradise ameen. I am sorry to open the news this way but i thought everyone will already be knowing it as most of his friends are from Pakistan.

My friends, my heart goes out to all of you as we deal with this tragedy. I am in so much pain and I don't know what to do right now. Sajid's family must be shattered by this. Nothing will be the same again, this is too big of a loss. How do we even begin healing from this? He has always been so busy helping all of us with our troubles, he did not even mention what he was going through.

I'm so shocked and could'nt believe we're talking about Sajid here. He have been so good on his opinions and advises. I can't belive that i will never going to hear his thoughts again. My sadness is beyond words.
But i am relieved that his passing is during this Holy month of Ramadhan. May Allah place his soul in the highest place amongs the chosen ones. Al-Fatihah

I m extreamely sadden by the passing of one of the great contributor's of this site. His advise and strenght has been n important part of this forum. I have rarely written on this site but I made it a point to read as much info as I can and have read much about Sajid. Though I didn't know him his passing has moved me to tears :sorrow

i am in total shock. i cannot even begin to comprehend that sajid is no longer with us. he was the constant on this site and his wise words and keeping everyone up on the latest news was reassuring .

I am sorry if i am over reacting,but Sajid's demise has got me thinking,i never believed that one day i'll get attached so much to the people i've never met,but i feel like relation or friendship we have is may be like blood ties,may be even more then that,our problems are same ,along with our grieves and happiness,i just feel like sajid would have wanted it.
What i really wanna say is that i think we should be in a bit more closer contact,emails are no use if the person is not using internet,so may be something like phone numbers?
It's just an advice,it's totally up to you,if you feel like there is no harm in doing so,exchange your phone numbers with others,with whom you feel most comfortable with on this forum,whom you consider is close enough!
I think i can start it by asking Umair,please PM me your number bro,if you don't mind,i just don't wanna loose any one of you.

My dear sister Zaini,
I understand you completely. I think that we have all become very close. Perhaps we have gotten to know each other better than we would even if we lived next door to each other. We share our inner most concerns and thoughts with each other everyday. Losing Sajid has shown me how much you can become attached to someone who is not physically in close proximity. Lucky for us his posts are here, and he left his thoughts and his advise with us.
My son was also beginning to correspond with Sajid, I shared the heartbreaking news with him last night because he needed to know why mommy was so distraught. It was very difficult to do and I think he is wondering why I couldn't help him. I wish there was something I could have done.
I have left you my phone number this morning in a facebook message, please call me anytime - or leave me you number and I will call you.

where as for family were are stuck with them, without a choice.

I just found out last night that a good friend of mine has died.
Sajid was a constant rock to me.
He was one of the first Thalassaemics on line that reached out his hand to acknowledge and support me.
At the moment my head is swamped with emotions and thoughts.
Physically we have never met as he lives in Pakistan but emotionally I am very attached to him.
He was always on line ready to encourage and support me as I live and deal with the Thalassaemia.
I hope that he is looking down on all of his thal pals smililng and still encouraging us as we move through life.
The greatest tribute I can give to his memory is to continue to inform others about Thalassaemia and to survive with Thalassaemia.
A wonderful person that I will truly miss.

after it began ,we had exchanged many PMs , then we turned on msn as well for live chat , your timings to come online was 10;00am to 1;00 pm PST and then short visits after every prayer .... it was electricity ,which played a big role to forced you to go offline several time... several time you went for a short time to out the desferal needle ,when we met in morning times ... we had dismissed chat session only sometimes for the dinner sometimes for the lunch... otherwise all day we have been online to chat .... and now you left me alone .. i m alone again as as i was before joining this forum ....

The technology used here is known as SQUID.
It had been discussed before but it is not as successful as FerriScan as this requires a special dedicated hardware while FerriScan can be implemented to existing MRI machines that match the specs.
Because of this SQUID is more expensive.

WE HOPE ALLAH (SWT) GIVES PATIENCE TO OUR FAMILY ESPECIALLY TO HIS MOTHER "
.... i thought that it could be a bad joke in reply of the joke of sajid in which he was pointing the mistake of government official , and the person is telling him that he will no more free to walk on the streets of RWP .... but it was telling something else , something that is still unbelievable for me ...
21, september when i felt that its too long that i havn't meet to sajid then i sent a mail to his cousin , and asked her that wat she is talking about ... if that is a joke then its a bad joke and plz no more joke ... but.. it is my fate, that it wasn't a joke ... i cant type anymore , i will try to share my of time i spent with sajid on internet .... i cant believe its all that happening to me is for the person to whom i had never meet .....

Zaini Sis ,its truly your own idea .. but ,i had a similar idea before last friday that was , to ask andy to do send the all 1200 members their user name and password so if they have fogotten their username or pasword they could become online again .. and to re-union of members of this site ... and to make sure that they r interested to come back or not ... and where they are and how they are doing ???... to know their health and treatment conditions ... its a good idea sis that you provided .. but we have to make some rules to use this in its true and proper means .. i hope you will got my point in exact and positive meanings ...

For understanding,i believe we all are going through the same situation,grief is overwhelming,i can't stop thinking about him,he was trying very hard to get his ferritin levels low,but unfortunately couldn't take ferriprox due to his WBC levels,i think if he could have taken ferriprox,situation might have been different.As we saw in umair's case how combination therapy helped him.
What we have to understand is that we have lost our dearest friend to iron overload,i know this overload was because of thalassemia,but we have members elder then Sajid on this forum,and in Sajid's case we can't even say he wasn't being compliant,Umair told me that he was doing desferal 6 nights a week.
He was a very strong person and held his self respect very high,never ready to accept help,when i sent him desferal,he never gave me his home address because he didn't want me to dend him desferal although he was short of desferal those days,i sent the package with his name on it to his thal centre and then just informed him.
Unfortunately,finances are a big problem in our country,managing a thal child can be very expensive,if you are managing him/her in the real sense,what with good treatment centres to ensure that you are getting properly screened blood,getting proper medicine with exact doses for chelation,along with the supplements that can help a thal child.
I belong to the so called upper middle class family,but i have help in managing my daughter's supplements atleast,from kind friends i got to know through this site,and my father,who helped me in getting wheat grass and carao,IP6 was provided by another kind friend.
How those parents must feel who have no means to get there kids even chelating drugs?I am thinking about tracking such patients and try to get help for them.It would be a difficult task considering i have two kids ,am a full time mom and have all doemstic responsibilities,but i think i can take my first step then Allah will definitely help me in my cause.

Sajid , i m on chelation back again after a little break .... last time i turned on chelation with pump on feeling very 13 sep 2008 and my by my own schedule my next chelation date was saturday 20 2008, when you passed away to us .... but that time ,i had no courage to use the same infusion system about which you encouraged me to use ,, which one is easy handle and carry .... but i wasnt using bcoze of some fear about the having sist and pain with it .... i was using a local heavy & huge pump that was very dificult to carry.... thats why i wasn't regular with chelation ... ... now i m using that pump you told me to use .... i m having chelation therapy to that light-weight infusion system and remembering your words with eyes which havn't ability to tear anymore .....
you said , hey buddy ,try once again to use that infusion system, its O.K and functioning same to my one , its not a fault , it will not harm anymore you just have to insert needle with 45degree angle
i dont know now who will encourage me to his personal experience ........ you had a very soft and kind heart ... you was a super personalty ... you was a good man , that's why you left this selfish and crual world .....

My Heart won't to believe and mind isn't coming to accept the reality ...both ( my heart and mind ) are praying to hear that it was a miss-understanding ... but, it's true ... its not a miss-understanding .. A person to whom we love but not meet once , is no more with us .. we have to accept it as soon as possible ... otherwise it will not let us leave and also will not let us to feel comfort and carry his cause on and move forward for his cause .... i m doing my best to stop sending his memories on site but i feel that it will not justice to his efforts and his memories ... we have to spread the words he had with us to inform other wat is the thinking of a thal about treatment and all other issues ... to spread awareness about thalassemia .. to tell the world what issues and crisis thals are facing ... to tell the world wat are our probleme socialy , economicaly and employement related , treatment related , blood availability related , prices of medicines and suply of desferal related and other problemes thals are having to cope with to survive ... to tell them its not the question only of good life for thals , its also a question on the survival as well .... its not a fight against thalassemia , its a struggle for survival of thals ... we won't to loss more friends like sajid ..soo we have to move and have to come a step forward to give thals a better chance to live ...

It was very upsetting to hear from my wife Kathleen today that Sajid has passed. From his posts on this forum you were able to tell that he was a very selfless person. His posts would brighten up my wifes day when she would read them. To know that there are people like Sajid willing to help others when in need,when his own body was being destroyed,gives us all hope that there are more people like him in this world. Sajid may have passed from this place but his spirit will live on on each of us. May god take Sajid and use him now in heaven the way he used him here. :sorrow

I was in denial since I saw this message on Andy's MSN and was tryign to log in to my account here but was not able to. Then I said to myself it cant be our Sajid, he is so young so full of life.
Andy finally activated my account and I checked.. I wish I didnt have to check this and get this bad news today.
On one hand I posted Prat's recovery and on the other hand I get to hear this... y is happiness so shortlived.

its something that he was saying to me in last few meetings ... it's reflecting wat sajid was thinking but he never told anyone .. he had a storm inside him wat a brave & strong man he was ,, he didn't let that storm come-out .. it is something that i m feeling dificult for me to carry it inside me ..i m not that much storng man , thats why i m unable to carry it in my heart ...

It is shocking to realise what happened. When I read this post right now I could not truly believe it. Sajid was such a nice person, always ready to help and hear others out patiently. Well I have no words to express my grief. He was so young ,so full of life and such a wonderful mind. May God grant him paradise. We can only pray for him. This has to be really hard for his family, his mother. We have become so attached to him that we are missing him so much, now imagine what his mother is going through. My sincere condolences to all the family and friends.

This is a very nice piece of memorial reading material .
I enjoyed reading it.
Still, I believe that if we have faith .its easier to understand ,accept and slowly move on.
If we have faith, we have a need to believe that god knows what he does and we need to follow without questioning his motives or decision.
Having said that .I know that we all are hurting badly, but taking into consideration that god know best it, alleviate the pain and thus make it less hurtful.
I hope I make sense.

Thanks for your wisdom,I definitely believe that God knows way better then us,and whatever He did was better for all of us,and i am definitely trying to move on by spending more and more time on this forum,to continue Sajid's legacy by welcoming and greeting others ,and trying to help as much as i can.

I think , no neeed to disturb her more .. as we called his home and his aunt confirm's his death .. asking this question again & again will hurt pinch/hurt their hearts ,.. soo i think we dont have to askit again to them ...
the person who used his acount several times ii think he is his Bro-in-Law ,.. as i asked to asim that who is using his acount he told me he was too good friendly terms with his bro-in-law ... and as Andy mentioned a few day ago that "Sajid's bro-in-law sent a message to andy " .. it shows that he is his bro-in-law who is conveying or messages to his family ... and using his account as well .. when i first time saw his acoount online .you may ask Sharmin sis wat was my feelings and how madly i reacted .. when i first time saw his acount online i thought that he is playing a bad joke with us .. i sent several PMs on his account but no one reply i got to the person who was using the account .. may God bless us to understand and realize that the Sajid is no more with us ...

ohh my god,oh my god i cant believe sajid is no longer with us. i have not been on this site for whaile now i n heared sajid is gone , sajid have helped so many pple n this site. his words made me stronger when i needed help with sara. may allah rest his sprite n peace and may allah give his family family the stringth to deal with this tragedy.

I know that this doesn't seem to get any easier. Each time I log in and see this thread I feel the shock again, and each time another member realizes that this tragedy has transpired I feel the disappointment with them.
I hope we can take this emotion and do something good with it. Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. Let's get Sajid's message out and help people.

I am extremely sorry. I have joined the forum just few days before. My 1st mail to any one at forum is to Sajid, don't knowing about his migration to next permanent world. I am realy much inspired with the achievments of THE GREAT SAJID. May Allah bless on him in that world. (AMEEN).
