And will it be minor or major?

Please provide some more details, what is the state of thal in your bf, is he minor, intermedia or major. Also, have you tested to confirm that you are not thal or carry the minor genes. This can only be determined through electrophesis test.
Blood type has no bearing on thal, so don't worry about it.
As a general rule, marriage between two thal minor has 25% chance they have a thal major child.
More details would be helpful.

If your boyfriend has thal minor your children have a 50% chance of inheriting thalassemia minor. If you do not have thal minor than your children cannot have thalassemia major. If your boyfriend is thal major than your children will be thal minor for sure. Your blood type will not have any impact on this.
Thalassemia minor in most cases is asymptomatic, many people don't even know that they have thal minor. It commonly causes mild anemia. If you do have thal minor children it is important to give them proper nutrition and supplements and they should do fine. Thals minors should avoid iron supplements unless if they are truly known to be iron deficient. Once thal minor children grow up, find partners and plan families of their own - it is then important for them to know whether their partner also has thalassemia and to seek genetic counseling.
Best of luck,
Sharmin
