Title: Talassemia, premature ejaculation and fertility
Post by: Batta on April 20, 2009, 05:30:39 PM
Hi, I have two important questions for you, so if someone could please answer quickly at least to the first one:

Does thalassemia have any connection with premature ejaculation? All the most common factors have already been ruled out.

Does thalassemia have any affect on a man's ability to have children?

Thank you in advance for your answers!

I have never heard that thalassemia can cause premature ejaculation. Thal can affect the ability to have children if you are iron overloaded, as this will affect the glands and sexual development. It is very important to maintain low iron for many reasons, including this.

Welcome to the site Batta,

It would help us to know your thalassemia type (minor, intermedia or major), hg levels and age.  If you are thal minor - thal minor is usually not causally related to infertility, unless as Andy mentioned, if you have iron overload.
