I have been requested to post this announcement for the thalassemia conference being held in Delhi later this year. I wish it was possible for me to attend.

We are pleased to  announce that the 4th International Conference on Thalassemia will  be held at Hotel Intercontinental Eros, Nehru  Place , New Delhi on 31st October- 1st November,09.

Hi Anita,

Unfortunately, I cannot come to the Delhi conference this year. Even managing to go to the NYC conference which is only a one hour flight for me, was very difficult. Hopefully, things will improve for me so I can travel internationally again, but finances are not the same as they were due to the bad economy, so I have to stay close to home for now. I hope the conference goes well and is a big success. Please give everyone my regards.

By the way, I was very happily surprised to see Inder at the NYC conference. I knew he was studying genetics in the US, but never thought I might meet him here. He was there with a poster exhibit concerning fetal hemoglobin research. It was really nice to see him and give him a hug.  :hugfriend It's also great to see how many thal patients are going into medicine and research so that they can help make life better for all.

Is anyone from thalpal going to be at the conference in Delhi? Seems like there are some good doctors going to the conference.

This sounds like a great conference, I hope that our members residing in India will be in attendance.  It will also be a great opportunity for them to get to know one another - and support one another.
