I have had this happen about 3 other times in my life..
I would be doing a normal routine and then I get super pale my heart races and I get some palpitations..I drank basically nothing but orange juice for 2 days and I figured I was hydrated from that..my blood pressure dropped suddenly as well
All blood tests came back normal
they pumped me full of fluids with 2 iv's and gave me an adavan..it seems to have stabilized me a great deal.. I am just so confused on how I could get dehydrated so easily. I do understand bonemarrow has to produce new cells faster but all heart tests and everything were very close to normal..heart was still a little fast by the time I left
Havent had any caffeine in 2 days..and had no other stimulants..I don't smoke and rarely drink
Not sure what other info to put heh

Not nice those experiences. I am really not an expert, but it might be dehydration though.
To avoid such things I try to drink daily (instant) vegetable broth.
We should wait for the others.
Take care,
Dore

Hi Moik,
Do you know what blood tests were done on you ? and are you taking any kind of supplements?

Hi Moik,
Dehydration can cause palpitations, as can stress. Are you a thal minor? Have you had your thyroid checked? I would also suggest that you take supplements - we have listed many in the diet and supplement section. If you let us know which ones you are currently taking we can further advise you.

Thank you for taking the time to check this out
For awhile I was taking a target brand multi vitamin without iron
And have discovered a super b complex seems to work the best
recently I had blood work done and they didn't know if they needed to treat me or what and I just asked the about my ferriten and hg levels and they were normal for Thal minor
At the hospital yesterday they checked for thyroid problem..kidney heart and lung issues..they determin is was anxiety related. I have had anxiety in the past but I thought I conquerd it an this came out of nowhere and just wouldn't let go
I am feeling alot better today.. I just was drinking the wrong fluids I guess.. Orange juice with not enough water..that just suprises me
Thanks again

Mike,
Good to hear you're doing better today. I think the fact that you were pumped full of fluids in the hospital shows that you were dehydrated and that it was more than anxiety. I have quite a bit of experience with dehydration in the past as a result of doing landscaping in Florida and also from intensive bicycle riding in very hot weather. I would suggest that you don't try to get all your fluids from juices etc. Unsweetened juices are good but they do contain a lot of natural fruit sugar, so some moderation is required. It is best to take water as your main source of fluids. However, even this can lead to dehydration if your salt levels are low. If you're dealing with warm weather and are drinking a lot of fluid, you should also make sure that your salt intake rises. Eat something salty, especially if you have a craving for salty foods. That is your body telling you it needs more salt. I realize that my case is somewhat of an extreme method for dealing with dehydration, but when riding my bicycle for long distance, I always take salt packets with me and eat the salt with water as I ride. If I don't do this and only consume water, I end up with symptoms of dehydration, including a foggy mind and an unawareness of why I feel so bad. After it happened enough times I began to realize I needed salt even though my mind could barely think. When I worked outdoors I would take some salty chips with me as a snack so that I wouldn't start to feel foggy. Water alone, is not enough. The salts that are lost need to be replaced. Avoid distilled water completely, as it has zero mineral content and can actually cause dehydration. I found this out the hard way and ended up vomiting and almost passed out while working. Sports drinks can also be used in moderation to maintain a mineral balance, but they do contain a lot of sugar and should not be the sole source of fluids.

Thanks a bunch for your advice..
Its funny you mention bike riding and landscaping because in the past 2 weeks ive been doing alot of landscaping and the day before my incident I was bike riding to try to get in better shape..I am all to aware of the foggy minded sensation you speak of too! Thanks again
Also I wonder the time frame that I should let my body recover before I start being active again.. I obviously don't want a repeat of what happend
Should I just go on how I feel or should I wait a few days..Still a little tired feeling
-
When you feel well rested and know you are re-hydrated, try some activity but in moderation to see how well you do. It should really only take a matter of hours to get back to normal but with the hospital trip involved, you need to be cautious.

Almost had to go again...I experienced a random rush of thirstyness..then vomiting..body was acting like i was dehydrated even though ive been pretty responsible about drinking plenty of water and sometimes gatorade mixed in(body felt like it was cramping up).. I guess it could be anxiety related..now i feel exhausted and such..gunna see a doc soon see what the heck is going on

Moik,
Have you had a glucose tolerance test? (GTT).
You will need to fast for 10 hours (no longer than 16 hours) and have the test first thing in the morning. Have you experience blurry vision or increased urination? Have you had an increase in appetite and significant weight loss?
There is a good chance your symptoms may be related to stress or anxiety, but it is a good idea to rule out other things.
Best of luck,
Sharmin

When I urinate I would consider in normal intervals..only 2 lbs weight loss in a 4 month period since I havent been using as much muscle..I can eat a bit more then I use to..but its pretty much on schedule too with maybe a lil snack in between..but there have been sudden onsets of hunger as well.. Diabetes runs in my family but everything seem to check out when I was at the doc last..they blame in on anxiety too...It seems that when I discover ways to cope with certain anxiety symptoms manage to come out in other ways..
I do have a fear of becoming diabetic so these new symptoms may be springing from the fear..but I honestly do suddenly feel thurst or hunger (my stomach will even growl) my aunt is bringin over her glucose tester tomorrow..
I may seem like a hypocondriac but these symptoms are very real and I just wanted to get to the bottom of this so I can move on!

Mike,
I hope its nothing serious but as Sharmin said its better to check everything, good luck for your glucose test and keep updating us.

Turns out I have chronic sinisitus which can cause the changes in appetite and thirst...so nothing to serious!
Having a stuffy nose everynight has always been a part of my life so I didnt think anything of it! Haha
-
I am glad that it is not anything serious Moik. It would not be a bad idea to have a fasting glucose test anyway - just to rule it out. How is your doc planning to treat the sinisitus?
