Hi,
I just spotted bruises on Z's legs, there are four of them, they are not exactly blue, kinda brown, like darker then her skin, and they hurt when touched or pressed,we don't remember her falling or something that will give her 4 bruises on a leg, what should i do ??? .

Have you any idea what her hgb is? Low counts are linked to bruises. Maybe you just should watch it a few days, maybe it will gone by itself. Sometimes we don't understand the human body, but is everything fine.

I don't know exactly what her hb is right now,but she was last transfused on 11th July, and her pre transfusion hb was 10.3.

Have her eat some citrus fruit.
-
Bruises are sometimes caused by defiency in vitamin C, that is why eating citruis fruits between meals is advisible

In citrus, only lemons are available here right now, oranges or grapefruits are not in season, although the multivitamin she takes daily contains 50 mg vit C .

Hi Zaini,
We experienced something similar last year - this situation resolved quickly and was explained by activities that I overlooked. Please see:
Thalassemia Patients and Friends / Discussion Forums / Thalassemia-related Issues / Bruising with Rituximab - please help
You can also see the blood tests that were suggested in that thread - by Andy and Sajid (sigh..).
I hope that our princess heals very soon. Andy suggested that I give lil A plenty of fruits and vegies and that did help.
Best,
Sharmin

My cousin told us to get her platelet count checked,so i am gonna do that, hopefully its nothing and bruises will go away.

I am sure that it will resolve soon. The blood test results were completely normal for us - and I am sure they will be for lil z as well - but it never hurts to have the tests done.
xoxo to lil z,
