Hi Guys,
Lil Z had her annual checkup done in last month,i was meaning to post these results since i got them, but i was just being my lazy self :shy anyways here are the results.
Test Result Normal Ranges
Magnesium 2.6 mg/dl 1.9--2.5
S.Creatinine 0.7 mg/dl 0.65--1.1
S.Total Bilirubin 1.0 mg/dl 0.0--1.0
Alkaline Phosphatase 265 IU/L 97--278
S.Calcium 8.9 mg/dl 8.6--10.5
S.Phosphorus 4.7 mg/dl 4.0--6.3
Serum TSH 4.31 uiU/ml 0.6--6.3 (for 4 months to 15 years)
SGPT 80IU/L 3--33
Now everything seems fine to me other then SGPT,although it was done in early morning, still it came that high, what is your advice, should we reconsider the dose of Asunra, although we'll be checking it again next week on her transfusion day,she is on 800 mg Asunra, and she weighs 27 kg.
Her Echo and abdominal ultrasound were all good, according to the sonologist,i haven't shown em to her hemo as she is on vacations.
We'll be doing her ferritin next week. Her S.Phosphorus has increases since last time it was below normal, and her Calcium is i think a bit low.
Waiting for your comments.
Zaini.
P.S Andy, how important is PTH?

Hi Zaini
Zainab`s reports are all good, Alhumdulillah. Her calcium is not low, its just at the lower end of the normal range, so its normal. I feel you should continue with the same dose of Asunra ie 800mg. Her SGPT is above normal, but still not high enough that one should even start thinking of adjusting the dose. Inshallah, it will come down soon.
take care

Thanks Umair and Maha,
I am also hoping that next week her SGPT and ferritin will have good news :) .

Zaini,
Parathyroid hormone (PHT) is very important as it regulates calcium levels in the body, so it is very important for bone and heart health. What I have learned recently is that even though the low end acceptable level of vitamin D is 25, it should be really kept above 30 to ensure proper PHT levels.

Happy to see these good results, you are a wonderful mum :clap
I too agree with Maha
Thanks Andy for mentioning the importance of the PHT, i will definetly do it when i am back home. Nobody has ever asked me to check it :huh

Manal,
Thanks a lot for your kind words. :hugfriend
No doctor ever asked us to do PTH either,i was just reading my old posts about Lil Z's annual check ups,i saw that Sajid and Andy both mentioned PTH,so when we went to the lab i asked for it too,and i was told that you need to fast for 12 hours before doing the test,so it was postponed, but i intend to do it in a while.

Zaini,
Lil Z's results look good. I will give you a list of other tests that the docs in Oakland told us about, we were fortunate to see an endocrinologist this time and I will post his recommendations soon.
