Title: Rinitidine - Is it safe to take while on Exjade?

Hi Andy,

Lil A's antibodies were beginning to act up again.  He will be on prednisone for a while.  Prednisone usually adds to his stomach issues.  The doctor suggested that he take Rinitidine, as it previously resolved prednisone related stomach problems.  He was not on exjade at the time.  Is it ok to take Rinitidine with exjade?

Hi Sharmin.

Rinitidine (Zantac) is actually listed as one of the drugs that may help to help alleviate gastritis in patients on Exjade. It should not cause any problems, as long as little A gets his regular monitoring for Exjade.

Lil A did really well with rinitidine when he was on prednisone a couple of years ago.  I will have his doctor prescribe it again.

Please update us about little A, why these antibodies keep rising though he is taking genotyped matched blood???

I hope that we soon get rid of this problem.

I hope antibodies won't be a big issue this time and they'll go to sleep permanently soon,Good luck my friend  :hugfriend .

The doc thinks that the antibody is weaker than it previously was.  We are hoping to suppress it quickly, I hope that it helps.
