hi
i am a new member though have read a lot.my son is 6mnth old,he weighs 6.25kgs.he has had 3 transfusions of 100ml blood each time.how is the amount of blood to be transfused calculated?

Hi Aabha
The blood volume transfused is usually 15ml/kg. But sometimes if the pre tx hb is low the volume can be increased to 20ml/kg.
