Good catch, Manal.
A lot of advantages in ferriprox-desferal combination therapy...that's why I keep voting for it!

I have heard the talk about combined therapy using desferal and deferiprone at every conference I have ever attended. With each new sudy, the results are confirmed and new data is presented. I find it very interesting that there are "No new serious health concerns" and "Long term therapy not associated with increased frequency or severity of adverse events." I wish we could say the same for Exjade.
Combination therapy remains king of chelation and once again I ask...
Why is deferiprone not approved in the US and Canada?

It would be nice to use a low dose of exjade in combination with deferiprone. Exjade alone is devastating on the stomach.
