Since the begining of the unrest in Cairo, the news is that internet blockage may have been imposed (the internet traffic has gone down by more than 80% since last week in Cairo).
I am wishing well to our member Manal who lives in Cairo.
Manal, If you read this, please let us know of your family well being.

I am also thinking about Manal. I hope that Manal and her family are doing well. I hope to hear from you soon my friend.

Telephone lines are blocked from time to time. Atleast the mobile network. Also satellite tv like Al Jazeera are disturbed (through the whole Arab world Al Jazeera has said). The telephone lines are blocked due the services from Google and Twitter. You can call one of the three numbers to leave a voicemail which will be your tweet. I am somehow not very afraid about our friends. I hope and think they are safe and doing well. I only have really doubts about the medicines in Egypt; blood donating and of docs have left the country (I may hope not). Internet is only possible if you are very technical. But I think Manal and kids are safe. School are closed and most of the rest too.
Lots of love, Dori

My apologies, I posted about with the knowlegde of the news of last night. After I posted heard the news and all the other news I started to feel foolish. I hope from the bottom of my heart that everything with them is fine since before I post above. It was not until I read the topic "Where are you from" and read that she lives in Cairo. I hope someone heard of her soon.
Love, -D

I received a brief note from Manal on Wednesday - she and the family were okay but things are not good around them. Her access to the internet was intermittent and she does not know when she will be on again. Please keep praying that Manal and her family will be okay. I am so worried.

Special prayers on for Manal and her family.....
Hope things improve soon....

I only just read this thread otherwise I would have posted news from Manal earlier. She is o.k and her family, too. I communicated with her through Facebook and I saw half an hour ago that she had posted again yesterday, so she is o.k.
I hope things will become peaceful again in Cairo for the benefit of Egyptian people.

I am curious when she will be able to check in again. I saw those people cleaning the square together. That's what life is. Doing things together.
I will for always remember where I was when I heard the news that he had left. That's for sure.

I am also glad to have you back, Manal.
What took place in your country these 3 weeks is unbelievable and shows the power of Egyptian people. Hope things will spread to the rest of the Arabic world. Arabs should be united, that is what I always think.

Sharmin,
Thank you you my friend for your continous support and prayers all the past time, they really meant a lot to me and my family. I missed you too and i thing we have a lot to discuss about the kids. I hope they are doing great and that you did well in your exams :hugfriend :hugfriend
Lena
Thank you so much for your concern and support all the time :hugfriend :hugfriend. Me too i still don't believe what happened, still i need sometime to digest this. It is amazing what we hear now in the media about the hidden corruption. Hearing of the huge amount of money that were stolen from this country makes me believe that we are the wealthiest on earth. Lena, your thoughts are right and when we were in the past, we had the greatest civilization . Anyway, i guess Yemen and Algeria will be the next. Let's wish them luck

Manal,
how are things going in Egypt? How is everyday life? Have you returned to your usual routine?

Good Luck to Egyptian people. My assessment is that Mr. Mubarak and his regime tricked their nation again. It is merely a change of face in Egypt so far. The government is still run by the cahoots of Mr. Mubarak, who by the way stole money and now living in peace. What remains to see are the next six months, how the elections pan out.
Mr. Elbaradi (coming out of nowhere) again is merely a puppet.
I sincerely hope that peace prevail in Egypt.
Manal, its nice to hear that you and your family is fine. Please keep us updated.

I am sorry to interrupt, but do we have members from countries like Libya, Bahrein, Oman and Syria? (to name a few)
