Hello Durel,
I am also searching the same thing.
I got some information
In manipal hospital , bangalore one doctor Ashish Dixit is there who is hematologist and is having experience with beta thal patient.

If you get any other reference then please share.
I am moving to Bangalore in June, currently I am in Delhi.
