The Hb level is 10.9. This is thal minor. An intermedia child at age 4 would have a much lower Hb (6-8%). The HbF percentage is of no concern. Many minors do have an HbF of over 5% and intermedia is usually higher than 10%.

Thanx a lot andy for your reply, did this HbF remain the same or will it increase or decrease on a span of time?

The HbF may vary but will remain higher than that of a non-thal. The effect of the high HbF is to raise the Hb level closer to normal, so it does have some benefit, as a higher Hb reduces the amount of unnecessary bone marrow activity.

Cod liver oil is OK (even if I have bad memories of my mom forcing me to take it as a child). AS long as the gummi is iron free, it's fine. Calicum is also good, but vitamin D is essential for calcium to be absorbed. In general, I ask people to get tested for vitamin D deficiency because it is the most common vitamin deficiency and it is needed for the absorption of so many other nutrients.

Those are good doses for her age. Depending on whether or not she gets much sunshine, you might want to get her D level checked. Sunshine is the preferred source of D, but we supplement when we can't get regular sunshine.
