Hey everyone,
Things have been going very well throughout the pregnancy but I've noticed in the past 3 weeks that my left abdominal side is very tender to the touch. It doesn't hurt until you touch/poke it. Could this be a cause for concern? I've seen posts on spleen enlargement, but I'm not sure how to tell if it is spleen related or not. I see my physician in 2 weeks (on the 27th) and don't want to worry anyone if it is normal. Thanks!

Hi Laurie,
It could well be what is called a palpable spleen. It is actually common in thal minor due to the constant hemolysis, and may be more easily noticed because of the pregnancy, as things are being pushed by the baby. If your Hb has not been dropping drastically, it is probably nothing to worry about.
