HI,
I want to know that whether the desferal is patented product? As it is available since last so many years(40+ years?) if it is patented then when the patent period is going to be completed?
Why there is not a generic version of Desferal?
 ??? ??? ???
I WANT GENERIC , COST EFFECTIVE N QULITY DFO.

Desferal is no longer protected by patent, making it possible for any company to manufacture the drug. I believe the cost is related to the actual production costs and also to the fact that so many patients quit desferal in favor of Exjade, that the supply has dropped drastically, keeping prices high. Anyone know why Cipla does not produce desferal?
