Title: SECOND PREGNANCY ADVICE

HI GUYS
CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT IM THAL MINOR AND JUST FOUND OUT IM PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND CHILD MY FIRST PREGNANCY WAS OK MY HB DROP TO 8 AT 35 WEEKS THEN WENT BACK UP TO 8.4 SO I DIDNT NEED ANY BLOOD TRANSFUISONS WHILE I WAS PREGNANT BUT DID AFTER THE BIRTH AS MY HB WAS 5.3 BUT MY HB NEVER RECOVERED AFTERWARDS AS IT SITS AT 10-11.2 NOW BUT AT THE START OF MY FIRST PREGNANCY IT WAS 12.7 SO I AM A LITTLE CONCERENED IT MY HB MAY DROP LOWER THIS TIME AROUND CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THEIR SECOND PREGNANCY WAS BETTER OR WORSE WITH THAL MINOR?

Hi Angie,

You should be taking folic acid daily throughout your childbearing years. Thal minors need a higher dose when pregnant. I have seen good reports from women taking 2-5 mg daily. This helps to build red blood cells. And as with all pregnancies, iron levels should be monitored and supplements used when necessary.

hi andy thanx for that im taking 5mg a day but only jst started for pregnancy will continue through out my pregnancy im jst waiting for blood test results for my hb level and iron
