Title: Tightness of chest a symptom of Alpha Thal Minor?
Post by: Aveiur on March 24, 2013, 10:47:30 AM
Hi I have noticed that sometimes when I am taking the train underground or after a prolonged period of standing still, I feel a slight tightness of my chest. There is also sort of a tingling/numbing sensation on my chest. My question is that is this a normal symptom of anemia or a separate condition altogether?

It sounds like a circulation issue, which is common in thal. Find ways to move your feet and legs even while sitting to get your blood flowing. The legs assist the heart in pumping blood and even a simple exercise while sitting, like raising your heals up and down with your toes on the floor can help the blood to flow.
