Title: Thalassemia Minor And Hypothyroid?
Post by: Berlian on April 30, 2013, 08:50:33 AM
Andy, is there a relationship
between thalassemia minor with
hypothyroid? I'm confused with
my case. Symptoms of sleepiness
during the day, a little dizzy, a
little tired did not go away.
It's been almost 4 months I feel
the symptoms and this is very
disturbing. A month ago, Andy told me to check the levels of
vitamin D. I've been taking
supplements of vitamin D 5000
IU per day for 2 weeks. And also
almost every morning I always
sunbath with duration half hour. But the
symptoms do not get better. If i not mistaken, I've read in one
article that there is a relationship
between thalassemia minor with
hypothyroidism. Maybe also my
symptoms are from my thyroid. Please help Andy and friends. Thank's.

It's difficult to say that there is a connection between thal minor and low thyroid. Many minors do also have hypothyroid, but this may just be coincidental, as thyroid disease is common among the general public. You should get your thyroid checked. It's a simple blood test and if there is any concern, it should be tested.
