My daughter is 2 yr 4 months and is thal intermedia. She is on hydroxyurea. Folic acid, calcium, vitamin E, vitmson b complex. She is also taking wheatgrass tablets. She is a extremely picky eater. Recently I have added mote fruits to her diet. What I am concerned about is that she doesn't eat any meat. Should I add some eat in her diet or is it ok to leave her alone. Would eating meat help increase her hb.
Her current hb after 2 weeks of HU is 6.8 and her s.Ferretin is 61

Meat isn't necessary. Intermedia patients who do not transfuse will often load iron from the diet, so high iron foods like red meat should be should be kept to a minimum. Fruits are good and easy to disguise in smoothies made in the blender.
