I am shocked to know that Maria had passed away. The most loving, funny and warm person with a lovely smile. I just saw her a month and half ago and she was so positive as always. She was a true inspiration. I really can not believe

Here we knew her as Miaki. I am in shock. This is a great loss to the thal world and to all of us who knew her. She brought so much life wherever she went. I can't imagine international conferences without her. My condolences to her son and all of her family and friends. This is truly a great loss.

My heartfelt condolences to everyone touched by this loss.  I had the privilege of meeting her in New York, so sad to know that she is gone :(
